Cath and Calvin's Wedding Cake, Farbridge Chichester

Congratulations Catherine and Calvin, Married on 15th December 2012 at Farbridge in Chichester, West Sussex.

I created a Wedding Cake for them based on their invitation design, which was also replicated on their seating plan. This was a three tiered stacked square cake covered in Ivory fondant icing. I then hand piped an interpretation of the invitation design onto the cake in white royal icing and embellished this pattern with edible silver dust (diluted with vodka to make a paint). Finally the design was finished with some ivory ribbon and brooches that matched those on the couple's invitations. Catherine had found a gorgeous ornate cake stand which covered in intricate etchings, so that this was visible, we decided not to place the cake onto a board any larger than the 10" base tier.

Farbridge Barn, The couple's venue for both their ceremony and their reception, was looking fantastic with twinkling fairy lights and loads of personal touches from the "Yummy for my tummy" Sweet Bags, to the vintage candlesticks and tea light holders to the handmade pine garlands. But my favourite item of all was the retro popcorn maker... Ooh I would love one of these!
